Tonight – May 10th

Hello Everyone:

We started very poorly tonight.  I reacted.  You improved.  Let’s keep that positive energy going. HUNCHBACK  needs lots of work on YOUR part.  We’re 80% there, but the last 20% means individual work on your part.  If you would only just chant the text with rhythms, we’d be way ahead of where we were at the beginning of tonight’s rehearsal. Please forgive me, but I want a clean, rhythmically accurate concert.  Notes will then come.  But the pitches are the last to be accurate.  All the rest come along.  I offer HUNCHBACK as my example of that premise.

The solo auditions tonight were wonderful.  I can’t wait until next week.  And that half of the chorus was there to back up these auditioners, and to lend support was what BCAS does best – support each other.

Next week, we’ll hear the second batch of auditioners.  I can’t wait.  But, our most important task is the rehearsal of these medleys. Please please work on those areas that are the most difficult – mostly in HUNCHBACK. it opens the concert.  If we have a sell-out I expect these folks will want a wonderful concert, not just one that is so-so.

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day Moms, and grandmothers, and godmothers.  See you Wednesday for a rehearsal that is  3 before the Dress.

Always loving you,

M
