Hello Everyone:
As you all can see, we have 4 rehearsals until our November concert. We’re in very good shape musically for that concert with A CHORAL QUILT needing some tender loving care. We have 3 rehearsals after that concert for our Christmas concert repertoire. We’re in pretty good shape there also with A WEXFORD CAROL and ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS needing more time dedicated to each of those over and above the other selections.
After all our weekly work, an audience is what we’re most in need of – for all 4 concerts! Please don’t wait until these performances are right upon us. Did you know the busiest people in the whole world are musicians? I do!!!! So I’m asking you to take some additional time in your hectic lives to go that extra mile in order to locate military folks present and past for whom you’d like to sing. Do you have a VFW Hall in your area? Can you visit them or call them and ask to put our flyer and postcards in their halls, at their Bingo nights, etc.? Do these posts have a member mailing you might be able to get our info into? How about the Christmas concerts? We perform three concerts in three very different geographic areas of WNY….. on three separate dates. What a great chance to get folks to come to any one ……………at such a beautiful time of year.
We number 112 active members this semester. That’s up from how we ended last May. If each of us does a little, none of us will have to make up for those who aren’t as able. As singers we all need and enjoy having concert goers experience our musical gifts. We are able to give lives a breather from mundane living that creeps into many of our days. And we enjoy giving relief to daily negative and disturbing news that most assuredly affects each of us. These concerts, both performed and attended, are necessary to lift our spirits, feed our souls, and make us better human beings. Thanks for all you do to ensure a full audience for not only the attendee, but for us as well.
