Hello Everyone:
We’re about to accomplish something very exciting both personally and musically. Let’s make sure we all are on the same page. We have 2 rehearsals next week and 1 concert. Wednesday, March 8th, and Friday, March 10th, 7:00 – 10:00 St. Joseph Cathedral. The Concert is on Sunday, March 12th at 3:00 PM. Report time is 1:15.
Next Wednesday and Friday, place your coats and personal stuff in back 1/3 of cathedral. Come up and sit in the rows 3-8 up front. I will then place you on the risers or on the chairs for sitters. No need to wear the “concert dress” at either of these rehearsals. However, it is strongly recommended that you wear the shoes you’ll be wearing for the concert as well as your hair.
On Sunday, March 12th, Concert day, report time is 1:15. We will warm up on the risers and then go back to the Marian Chapel until line up at 2:50.
Please paper clip your Requiem score to alleviate too many page turns. The quieter the better.
If each of you sold just 2 tickets between now and next Wednesday we would have almost 350 tickets sold for this concert. The door sale will only yield a possible 80 tickets making us still fall short of our 500 attendee goal. Please take this seriously. Each and every one of us is responsible for getting those folks in seats. They will thank us, I just know it!
My suggestion is that you try on your concert outfit. A few extra pounds may be an issue for many of us. A singer came up to me after rehearsal and said he had to order a new black shirt, cause the collar didn’t fit. Ah! Winter and eating our way into oblivion.
