The Merriest of Christmases and other stuff!

Hello Everyone:

I pray your holiday gatherings with family and friends will be healthy, hopeful, loving and joyous. ‘Tis the season to count our blessings and right up on my list is my BCAS family.  You are awesome!  Thanks for a wonderful 2019, and concerts that were so special to me and the audiences who love them and you.

Some news and info to you as you turn the pages of 2019 and enter events in your 2020 calendar:

  1. Auditions will take place for new members on TUESDAY, JANUARY 7TH, from 6:00-8:00  and on SATURDAY, JANUARY 11TH, from 9:30 – 11:30 for new members and…………………………………
  2. Auditions for our Cabaret on February 8th, a BCAS fundraiser for our trip will also take place on SATURDAY, JANUARY 11th, during the audition times for new members.  We think these auditions will be at Sweet Home High School in the Choral room, or thereabouts depending on a Building Permit.  As soon as I receive that information I’ll send it to you.  You may wish to know what we’re doing at the RIV, so you can be inventive with this audition for the Cabaret.  Included shows for the RIV are:  The Greatest Showman; Into the Woods; Sweeney Todd; Carousel; Children of Eden; Frozen I; Godspell, and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.  The Beatles will round out a sure-fire RIV extravaganza.
  3. Some of you saw a ‘loving’ collision between Doug and me as the Processional was ‘processing’ at the Cathedral on Sunday, December 8th.  Doug lost his footing, fell into me and we both did a very musical swan dive all the way down.  I fell back, with my head hitting the marble, and Doug did all he could not to crush me.  We were both bruised in various body parts.  Doug hurt his right hand, ‘messaging’ finger, but played incredibly well.  Along with cracking my very hard head, I sprained a neck and right shoulder. It’s amazing what adrenaline will do for the body and mind.  And we’re both good to go now.  Most of you did not know anything about this, and the show went on.  And it was magnificent!  I can’t thank you all enough for the immediate concern for both of us, and then singing an impeccable concert. I just want to know who were those Hee-men who had to pick me up?????????
  4. As I reported that Sunday night, too many singers were not available to sing a January 5th concert – 5 tenors did the trick.  NO concert on Sunday, January 5th, and therefore no rehearsal on Saturday, January 4th.  Therefore:
  5. Hand in your Christmas music at our return rehearsal on Wednesday, January 8th, as you receive music folders for Dan Forrest and the RIV.  Return any and all music you have found as you’ve had time to look into the corners of your car and homes.
  6. If you got a rehearsal CD from Linda Hall for the Forrest concert, you know that the music is absolutely wonderful.  What a treat that concert will be.  If you did not get a tape yet, DO SO WITHOUT HASTE on January 8th.

Happy New Year to you and your lovely families,

Marcia
