Some Concert Notes, etc.

Hello Everyone:

I looked at all of you stuffed on the altar last night and wished I could have had a personal opportunity to tell you how grateful I am to each of you. I looked in your faces, and what I saw were devoted singers. People who chose to be members of BCAS and who loved singing.  Some were there after driving through awful weather in the south towns, some had just had major surgery, some with physical issues, some with sick ones at home, and some who had several performances of other concerts this week.  And there were others who are do some much for BCAS.  You got me through that rehearsal last night.  I, too, had my issues. And I made umteen mistakes.  I want you to know that I wanted a do over after that rehearsal was finished.  You were all so patient, so accommodating.  And for that, I am sure that tomorrow night will be absolutely wonderful.

Now, some changes and some clarity:

  1. ;The GLORIA part of the Processional will be sung along the back of the church with Sitters joining in from their seats on the altar.  Sean and AD will then begin the walk to the risers and and along the sides.  Music folder will be in your left hand and then all will open folders at m. 43.
  2. A CRADLE CAROL – at m.42, ‘kind’ is now a quarter note, followed by a quarter rest. Get that page turned much more quickly.
  3. I WONDER AS I WANDER – at 55 change the hmm to oo to end.
  4. SHEPHERD PLAY YOUR PIPES – singers at 21, ‘dance your song, etc.’ – be very rhythmically precise; watch the cut-off at end, m. 67, after beat one.
  5. GESU BAMBINO – Last chord will be held out to cut off.
  6. DING DONG! –  at m. 49, SA join TB here to help the rhythms to stay together.  At m.57 just SA softly. Page turn on pg. 15-16 is VERY important so you don’t miss the p (piano) to molto crescendo.
  7. HARK! – hold last chord (King) to end.

That’s all folks.  See you tomorrow night.  6:15 on risers.  Do what you need to do to be on the risers at 6:15.  – M
