September schedule……….and we’re off to see the wizard of music.

Hello Everyone:

And before you know it we will be gathering on Wednesday, September 4th at SH HS, in our normal rehearsal spot.  The schedule for September will however call for us to be at the Middle School on September 11th.  Here is September. The rest will be forthcoming when SH gets its act together and Doug can determine whether we’re at the HS or the Middle School:

Wednesday, September 4 – High School

Wednesday, September 11 – MIDDLE SCHOOL

Wednesday, September 18 – High School

Wednesday, September 25 – High School

Mark your calendars.  I have asked Shandra and Kevin to put the actual schedule on the Website in FILES YOU MAY NEED, by this weekend.  As you know the summer took an awful turn for all of us with the news of John’s passing.  We’re stunned, saddened, and grieving but the Board and I have been in overdrive these last two weeks, getting music selected, ordered, sorted, stamped, placed in folders, LOA members contacted, Roster formulated, along with two sessions of auditions being held (Saturday, August 24th 9:30 – 11:30 High School and Wednesday night, August 28 6:30 – 8:30).  If you know of anyone still on the fence regarding membership in BCAS, and especially if they are tenors or basses, please get them to fill out an audition form which appears on the website – there’s lots of room for next Wednesday, 28th.

And the biggest and best news of these last two weeks is that we have an accompanist.  Bob Hull graciously accepted our invitation to be our full-time BCAS accompanist.  We’re so happy to have Bob and his many talents.  He’s just what the doctor ordered for our spirits and our musical needs.

We also have several members who were on LOA who are returning to BCAS.  I’m thrilled that singing is still in their blood and that want to come back to us.  All stated they missed BCAS and singing.  What more can we ask?

See you all on Wednesday, September 4th at the High School (come early to get music and pay dues) where we will joyously welcome Bob, our returning members, and our new folks just beginning with us.  We will give all of them a rousing BCAS welcome!

If you know of any upcoming absences, remember to get them to me (mgiambrone2@verizon.net), Bethanne (emjasen@buffalo.edu) and Sharon Darisse at sdarrise@msn.com). Put those emails in a place you will remember to find them.  And please remember to send your absences to ALL THREE OF US.  I will have seating cards for the first week, and them I’ll be most happy to turn them over to Sharon for future weeks.

I am getting those juices flowing – music is dancing in my soul – and ear worms are already taking over the fluff of summer!

Best Regards,

M
