Rehearsal Plan 4/27

Hello Everyone and EILEEN:

Thanks Eileen for reminding me last night that I sent a rehearsal plan on a Thursday a few years ago.   I worked on this today.  Here’s what I’m thinking.  We have spent so much time on the pieces with more musical issues, we have had a lapse in preparation of some of the others by Dan Forrest. Last night we went through 8/11 of our pieces.  Next Wednesday we will concentrate on 7/11.  It was apparent that some of our concert pieces were at best slightly unfamiliar to us as a chorus.  Many singers were almost SR the pieces.  You know the goal:  Besides the music coming first, we have to be totally prepared for each piece, especially as instruments are added.  MY GOAL:  You will not need a conductor on June 1st when instrumentalists are with us.

The CD’s that Linda made will be VERY helpful to each of you who cannot plunk out individual parts so that you become familiar with the piece as a whole. Please get a rehearsal CD  from Linda  if you don’t already have one.

PLAN:

7:00   Warm-up

7:10   And Can It Be? – 20

7:30   Come To Me – 12

7:42   Cantate Canticum Novum – 10

7:52   ANNOUNCEMENTS – 13

8:05   Alway Something Sings – 20

8:25   Song of the Wanderer – 20

8:45   Is He Worthy?   10

8:55   Gloria! – 5

Stay tuned to schedule for solo auditions and what we will need.  Have a great weekend!
