Hello Everyone:
I am so excited about our RIV concert this year. The music is so appealing, so interesting, so BROADWAY!!
SCHEDULE FOR REMAINDER OF REHEARSALS: This ‘show’ is a bit longer than our most recent ones. If all falls in place and we are a smooth, oiled machine, the concert will be @ 80 minutes, with an MC (Dan Fronckowiak) and all solos. As you will see by the following schedule, I don’t want to stop for correct notes and rhythms, or even for score markings that you just may ignore. Hint, Hint!!
Wednesday, May 9th: The concert rep with some of the solos will be done. By some solos, I mean those that are included in the medleys. All others will be done the next week. I will also hear ‘the fabulous five’ in various places. See below.
Wednesday, May 16th: The entire concert will be done, including ALL solos.
Wednesday, May 23rd: Full performance with Jim (drummer) with us.
Wednesday, May 30th: Full DRESS rehearsal at RIVIERA (no concert dress needed). This rehearsal will be LONG, since we will be working with theater tech, staging, lighting, mikes, etc. The combo of piano, bass, drum, synthesizer, guitar will need some time for some clarifications. They are ONLY scheduled for a 2 hour rehearsal (union rates involved) which, for them will begin at 7:30 and end at 9:30 with a 20 minute break, FYI 100 minutes of actual rehearsal. Think about all that involves, and I’m sure you understand that I really do not want to stop for anything choral, unless its an obvious issue. The emphasis for this ‘union’ rehearsal is totally on the MUSIC and coordination of staging.

SSA : Ladies, the men worked on the one-page OLIM which will precede the opening of Hunchback last week. I handed out this one-page sheet to them. Bless you Rachel Wannamaker………….has provided us with the pdf’s of Hunchback which includes the OLIM. Ladies, you’ll need to print this out. And I urge all of you to print out the other pages as well so your folder is more organized. I’ll have a few copies tomorrow night for those who cannot get this.

I know this is a lot to take in. Thanks for all the preparations to 38 of you for auditioning. I am so blessed to be associated with a music group that is so talented. Thanks to the entire chorus for putting in the time to learn this music. It was only 7 rehearsals ago (with 2 including only SSAA and TTBB) that we started to zero in on these scores.
Lind Lang – a huge thank you for getting rehearsal tapes to those who wanted them.
Shandra, thanks for helping to get the pdf’s on the webpage.
See you tomorrow
