Mondays with Marcia

Hello Everyone:

Last night the Board and I met for an extended time to discuss all the needs for our concert on Sunday afternoon, December 5th at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in downtown Buffalo.  The logistics and administrivia for CAROLING WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY , our first performance in TWO years, will be different from our past concerts for obvious reasons.  The Cathedral will have limited seating and we will require ALL participants, including audience, to be vaccinated AND to wear a mask.

TICKET DISTRIBUTION:

  1. Each member will be given 4 tickets to distribute to friends, family or anyone who wishes to come to this concert. No enemies please!!!!!
  2. ALL audience will be required to be vaccinated (proof at the door) and wear a mask.
  3. We will be allowed limited seating in the Cathedral so tickets should be given to only those who will definitely come.
  4. If you find you cannot distribute all of these tickets personally, you will return them at the next rehearsal.  Many or even most singers will need more than the 4 and they can be re-distributed amongst ourselves.
  5. There will be a freewill offering taken in the middle of the concert and the suggested donation will be $15.00.  NOTE:  Past Christmas concerts were priced at $20.00.
  6. A suggestion to put a QR Code on our website and in the program will help those who are savvy enough to use it to make their donations directly to the Buffalo Choral Arts Society.  We will encourage this so they don’t forget to make this donation.
  7. Your 4 tickets will be distributed to you at our Wednesday night, November 3rd at ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI rehearsal, 144 Broad Street, Tonawanda, NY, 14150.

MORE PERTINENT INFORMATION:

  1. You will be given a printed schedule for the remainder of this Fall at Wednesday’s rehearsal.
  2. You will note that starting on Nov. 3rd at St. Francis, we will need to extend our rehearsals to 9:00 PM.
  3. The Dress Rehearsal will be at the Cathedral on Wednesday night, December 1st, from 7:00 – 9:30 in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done including a processional and a change in our standing order somewhere in the middle of the concert.  Details forthcoming.

Please please work on your music.  I hope we can make beautiful music together on the 5th of December.  I know we an if all members work on these pieces more than just at rehearsals.

This Wednesday I will need to know who will be sitting at this concert so we can start to use this info at rehearsals.

See you Wednesday at St. Christopher’s.  We need to start precisely on time.  I’m working on a rehearsal plan.  Stay tuned.
