Monday News from Marcia………….as far as I know!

Hello Everyone:

And this is why I’m so honored to be an employee of BCAS……………………….The manner with which the Board deals with organization, communication, etc.

The BMHOF is still making decisions as to what we are doing, where we’re sitting, when we report, when we perform and for how long.  Given that, this is what we know so far:

  1. At the finale, in addition to the BATTLE HYMN, we may be singing  a Harold Arlen song to honor ‘something’.  If that is the case, Gail will pull our WIZARD OF OZ medley for Wednesday’s rehearsal, where the last 5 pages have a lovely arrangement of SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW.  We sang this at the RIV in June of 2017.  I actually have a lesson plan WITH this piece included should we need to rehearse it during the next two rehearsals. Stay tuned.
  2. We may be singing first on the program, after some speeches.
  3. What we will be singing and for how long is still ‘up in the air’.  It could be 3 or 4 combinations of pieces we already are rehearsing.  So many things to consider when they communicate with us.
  4. We are still ‘negotiating’ as to when we get our risers, etc. all set up, which impacts when you should be there.
  5. We still need to find out if the piano in the pit is/will be  TUNED.  Yikes!!!!!
  6. You can still get your ticket for the October 11th induction.  Go to BMHOF.com and use Chorus2018 as your log in.  It’s simple after that.  NOTE:  I expect ALL singers to be at this induction, singing with pride.  I know of just 3 singers, who informed me way back that they just could not be in attendance.  It’s way too late now to be telling me of your inability of singing.  Not being able to get this ticket or any problems thereof are just not worthy excuses for any BCAS member for not singing.  PLEASE, PLEASE take care of this NOW.  You have until Wednesday to get your ticket for a mere $10.  Do I like that you have to pay to sing at your own induction? Absolutely NOT.  If you cannot afford to get this done, I WILL PAY FOR YOU.  ‘Nuff said!!!!

The weather is dreary, chilly, and typically fall.  My arthritic bones tell me so!   BUT, I am so incredibly excited about these next few weeks.  No other chorus has such an amazing set of singing occasions.  I’m revved!!!!  The audiences will be treated to such positive entertainment in a dreary world of incredibly ugly news.

Stay tuned for the rehearsal plan for Wednesday.
