Just a joyous day!

Hello Everyone!

Yes, yesterday afternoon afforded each of us a wonderful way to connect with a very appreciative audience.  It was a GREAT day for all!  Kudos to each of you for going through a ‘dress’ run-through, AND a concert.  You are a hearty bunch and I am so appreciative as was the entire audience. You sang beautifully, with strong voices, and subtle nuance – especially during both the Berlin acapella sections.  Stunning.  And does that Battle Hymn EVER get old and dull.  Rousing. It brought tears to my eyes, and the audience to its feet.

John Murphy did a terrific job and was, again, extremely impressed with all of you.  He was delighted to reprise his duties of last year!

A shout out to AD and Dan for wonderful solos, both getting our audience even more engrossed with the story of freedom and love we told through song.

A shout out to John, our esteemed accompanist, who shows his versatility each and every time his fingers hit the keyboard.

Another to our un-sung hero CREW.  These singers, with a couple add ons-  Frank Corona and Mike Southard – bring such organizational strength to all of us.  Andrea and Sam did a super joy of getting all that organized and done for us.  A new crew, with many returning, all making the transition look so good. Bless you all.

Tomorrow night – TUESDAY, October 30th, we re-gather at Sweet Home HS for one of our remaining 4 – yes 4 remaining rehearsals until our Dress rehearsal for our 3 Christmas concerts.  Lots to do in four rehearsals.  We WILL do it, musically, smoothly, and with the intent to FILL those 3 venues.  Who doesn’t like a good old Christmas concert. So start to line up those buyers for tickets.  LARGE GROUPS would be great.

I’ll try to have a plan to you for tomorrow night, but I just may put it on the board.  Plan for all pieces to be done.  Mark your scores. Look at stuff that is new (to our veterans), and to our new folks, I anticipate you’ll be able to read through this stuff easily if you haven’t done so already.  You came to BCAS mostly for your beautiful voices, but also because you can sight-read!

To those who did not sing yesterday, PLEASE bring back all music that is NOT Christmas to hand in.

Hark!  The herald conductor sang and shouted!!  I LOVE BCAS!
