Heaven Sent Angels!

Hello everyone:

It was so nice to ‘celebrate’ with so many of you at Pearl Street today.  It was a lovely gathering.  Thanks to Gail, Nadine and others who handled all the details.  And the desserts??? Sublime!

I have a college friend here who came to the Friday Dress and today’s performance.  She and I have been friends since we were college freshmen music majors way back when.  Sharon is from Colorado and she told me today that she was so impressed by the professionalism of BCAS, how we took care of one another, how we (you) set up and tore down  our own equipment, how we sang for one another, how you all sang so passionately for yourselves and our audiences.  How every detail was so beautifully articulated.  And she said you sang so beautifully.  I am one proud music director.

I also had many audience members come up to me afterwards, from area choral directors, teachers, to friends and family of all of you using words like stunning, beautiful, by far one of the best performances they have been to this year.  Am I proud??  Yep!!!  When we spoke during warmup about who was accompanying whom, and who lead the tempi, you responded so well.  When you think of the space and distance between you, the orchestra and me, we had a lot of ‘stuff’ to overcome.  I worked hard today and you responded.  Bravi my singers.  Obviously you were why people used adjectives such as stunning, musical, fabulous, heavenly, and angelic.

I’ll have more for you soon but today can be beautifully summed up by my sharing a text from one of Nancy and my neighbors today… “We expected the concert to be exquisite and transporting, but we were not prepared for how elevated we felt.  Listening to this program was like receiving a Sacrament! Thank you to you, Marcia and BCAS for sharing your talents and bringing heaven to us today”.

I couldn’t say it more perfectly.  Sleep well my singers.  I shall see you on March 22nd.  We’ll be welcoming back some singers who will be singing with us for the Loving Finale.  I can’t wait.

Love you to heaven and back,

M
