Did Anyone Get Hurt? – i had to say it!!!

Hello Everyone:

My family is all on their way home.  I get my house back tomorrow after it was Aunt Marcy’s Free Arbnb.  The laundry will take me forever.  I basically spent all day today, reliving yesterday, although for naught because I am just numb.  There have been numerous Facebook posts, emails, all which include such glorious mention of you, the singers of BCAS.  One such post touched me immeasurably.  I’d like to share parts of it with you, my wonderful singers:  “BUT, much more than that (comments on how musical you were), I could feel the joy from the chorus soloists that they expressed to the audience.  Even more than that was the feeling of spirituality that was conveyed to the audience by this wonderful chorus.  Thank you for guiding them to their greatness:”

I’m sure by now you’ve heard many such well-deserved kudos about yesterday’s extravaganza.  And there should be so many more for you all.  And not for just musical wonderment.  I’m thinking of those who did their jobs so well ‘behind the scene’.  Even going to a hairdresser to find out how to pin a tiara on a crying conductor.  Yes, I found out Nadine!  And stuff like this on and on and on.  And awesome was a word I kept thinking of that described your total immersion in this concert.  In English, we say Thank You to express our gratitude for something given to us.  It is an entirely inadequate word when yesterday comes to mind and all the events that preceded it.

I have NO idea how any of you went to  work today.  I was completely wasted.  Nancy has been my host for the last four days.  I gave my home up to my nephew Joe and his daughter Noelle, who joined me on the stage, and Declan his son, with the quote, ‘you’re a long liver’, nephew PJ and Fern, and El Nino, his dog.  I face mountains of sheets, towels, and laundry tomorrow.  A FABULOUS price to have them all here.  My sister and her husband Uli came in from Sarasota, FLA.  All are en route home.  After the concert, my family and friends gathered at The Grapevine where we had a mini-family reunion, celebrated 5 birthdays, and a retirement.  Just seeing the little ones interact with their couisins with whom they have had little personal time, makes all of us smile from ear to ear.  I hope Paula will publish lots of those pictures.

This morning at a family breakfast at the Original Pancake House, I asked Declan what part of the weekend he liked the most. He had zero hesitation, THE CONCERT.  You my friends made an enormous impression on a 6 year old.  My niece Noelle now wants voice lessons and wants to be a conductor.  Can I ask for anything more?  I think not!

This Wednesday and Saturday we will gather at the Manor House to gather, reflect, laugh, hug, give thanks and be with one another.  It will be a glorious time.  I am totally in on this festive gathering.  A HUGE thank you to Gail.  There’s that word again.  Totally inadequate! She and her crew are THE BEST at Manor House shindigs, or Hoo-Haas in my vernacular.

Bear with me as I get to you all  with your lovely thoughts and notes to me.

All my love,

M
