Hello Everyone:
I announced last week that West Seneca West has asked if any BCAS singers would like to join in a joint concert honoring John Mitton on Thursday night, May 7th at the Cathedral, downtown. The work this year is one that John loved, Dan Forrest’s REQUIEM FOR THE LIVING. My BEST, – M
Here is Keith Ersing’s email to me with schedule:
HELLO MARCIA!
I hope all is well! I am emailing you to see if members of BCAS would be interested in joining us for our annual Mother’s Day Concert! I am hoping to honor John Mitton throughout the concert by inviting BCAS and programming repertoire that he loved or would have loved.
Is this something that you and your singers would be interested in? Here are some details:
- The main work is Dan Forrest’s “Requiem For The Living.” I kept coming back to this piece because of John. He loved it. He also would have loved to have had the opportunity to work with him and BCAS. We did this work about six years ago but I think it is a perfect fit.
- We would have less rehearsals (unless your singers wanted to come to more) for BCAS members. Here is what I am thinking:
- Concert May 7th @ St. Joseph’s Cathedral
- 7:00PM Rose Processional & Concert
- 5:30PM Rehearsal
- Additional Rehearsal
- May 1st 6:00-8:30 at West Seneca West SH w/choirs & orchestra (HS kids would be called at 5:30 and BCAS at 6:00.)
- **I can change the rehearsal date/time if you need me to!**
- We are looking for a balanced ensemble of 24 or 32 singers BUT would be happy with more or less. Our tenors and basses are young and would especially benefit from your adult male singers!
- If there is interest, we would love to have your ensemble perform a piece or two from your Dan Forrest concert. I know this would be difficult but please know that the offer is there!
- Concert May 7th @ St. Joseph’s Cathedral
THANK YOU in advance for your consideration! Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns! I hope to hear from you soon.
All my best,
KEITH
