A February 4th Musing!

Hello Everyone:

Today, two days into typical Buffalo yuck weather, and being stuck indoors, I find myself really, really missing our rehearsals and times together.  We’ve been hit hard in January and now beginning of February.  But true confessions: I’m actually so glad not having to drive in this stuff on Wednesday nights.

For those of you who picked up your music this past weekend, THANKS SO MUCH!  To those who helped in the distribution of our folders, THANKS SO MUCH!  i had every intention to come to each spot and say hello and see each of you even if it was a fleeting moment.  But…………………………………………… Part of the reason I wasn’t able to come to EUCC and St. Christopher’s is due to some physical restraints as my right knee is causing me severe agita!  It is as wonky and painful as I have had possibly since my back surgeries.  Walking with a cane and praying I don’t fall in the snow has meant many “Dear God, Don’t Let Me Fall” moments.

In the last few weeks, Covid has caused elective surgeries to be cancelled and/or rescheduled.  In my case I just couldn’t deal with the pain so I called my surgeon, spoke with his surgical scheduler and got a Feb. 28th date for my R  Knee replacement. I’m very happy believe it or not, and I anticipate that I will be in less pain and be able to get around so much better.  Of course, many of you have had knee replacements and know that rehab is part of the essential treatment that must take place. I fully believe I will be faithful with these rehab sessions, both in home and in a rehab center.  And even because I can’t drive for 6 weeks,  I have EVERY intention to be at St. Christopher’s on Wednesday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm so we can resume our preparations for our next concert, MUSIC FOR A SACRED SPACE, The Music of Dan Forrest and others.

Thanks for your patience as I set up our Zoom Sing sessions on that music.  There will be two sessions on Wednesday, February 16th and Wednesday, February 23rd, 7:30 – 8:30.  I’ll send the Zoom invite before each one.

In the meantime, be safe, healthy, dug out of snow, and if you want to email me just to let me know how you are, I’d be MOST HAPPY!

Much Love,

M
