A changed and new opening! AND Concert Order

Hi Everyone:

With an abundance of caution, I am changing the opening of our concert due to copyright law considerations.  We have been granted permission to perform the insert that you now have in your possession (Heaven’s Light and Hellfire) – PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THESE PAGES ARE ALL INSERTED CORRECTLY AND SECURELY.  I saw an awful lot of shuffling pages last week, along with many women missing the most important entrance in the score.  That was unacceptable.  I know it will be much better this week.

We will be collecting OLIM, and any copies might be in your possession.  Now in place of that we will be doing the following:

A recording of the actual Notre Dame (Paris) Cathedral bells will play as the lights go down.  From behind the curtain, the chorus will begin a chant of the Gloria: in F Major

Men:  Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto;

Women: Sicut Erat in principio , Et nunc, Et semper,

All:    Et in Saecula saeculorum. Amen (with big crescendo)

It’s the basic chant.  As we sing this in unison, and all sing the Amen, the curtain will open and we begin HUNCHBACK.

Wednesday night will be a full run-through with all solos, and Dan’s intros.  Please be prepared to stay 15 minutes later.  Jim, our drummer will be there and I hope only to stop to instructions to him and coordination with John.  All soloists, I’d love to have you have your stuff memorized or at the very least, a glance or two to the written score.

The soloists will all come forward to practice how long it takes to get from risers to front of ensemble.

Sitters will sit in front row.

WE ARE SOLD OUT, earlier than we ever have.  I take it you helped immensely in selling these tickets.

Each of us knows what we need to do to give the BEST show we can.  I am very much looking forward to this rehearsal and to this concert.

Concert Order:  Gloria Patri; Hunchback; A Puzzlement (Chris Jasen); Getting to Know You (Nancy and Gary Behrns); King and I Medley; How Are Things in Glocca Morra (Maureen O’Brien); Look To the Rainbow; Your Daddy’s Son (Bree Rodriguez); Ragtime Medley; The Wizard and I (Katie Kruszynski); Medley from Jekyll and Hyde; Medley from West Side Story
