PLEASE MARK YOUR SCORES BY WEDNESDAY: The solo/program order list

Hello Everyone:

Here is the listing of all the solos plus all additional opportunities for individuals for June RIV concert.  Also, here are some stats for you.  There were 37 actual auditioners last Wednesday night.  There are 7 actual solo places marked in our scores.  Because I finagled and re-imagined for the simple purpose of trying to increase solo opportunities, there now are 19 solos for individual singers – (this number includes 3 singers singing more than one time solos and 2 stand alone solos).  With this new configuration, I have more than doubled the  possibilities. But, there are still 18 auditioners who were not assigned an actual solo part. ALL SOLOISTS NOTE:  Some of you, actually many of you, are assigned different solos that the one with which you auditioned.  I have great faith that you will learn and memorize your new opportunity.  And ALL please note that I am so deeply sorry I couldn’t get you all in some sort of solo situation for this concert.  However, like everything else musically, I may be able to increase this list of assigned soloists if I am able at this Wednesday’s rehearsal.  I have some thoughts still to work through. That is why this upcoming rehearsal is so very important.  But, Wednesday night is the VERY last opportunity for me to change, add, alter, etc. any part of this program.

As I have indicated on many occasions, and after many, many hours of back and forth switching, changing, inventing etc, my final program is the result of closing my eyes for 75 minutes and ‘sitting in the concert hall’, enjoying the performance from an audience perspective.  [Some of you may just wish I had just bought a ticket instead!]

I thank you in advance for your understanding, your respect for this very difficult and intense process mostly because there were so many possibilities. My musical decisions are always with the knowledge that all this is most assuredly with BCAS’ and RIV performance needs at the forefront of my thinking.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at mgiambrone2@verizon.net. My Best – Marcia
