So far……………………..fingers crossed!

Hello Everyone:

It’s Tuesday, and tomorrow is Wednesday when Mother Natures ramps up her efforts to make all of us anxious, concerned, and worried about travel to and from a BCAS rehearsal.  Tomorrow’s weather is calling for 4-7 inches of steady snow (a general snowfall all over WNY), starting in the morning and only relenting by evening with heavier stuff in the early evening, just when be would be traveling from all parts of WNY to get to SWEET HOME MIDDLE  SCHOOL.

Here are my thoughts:

  • If, and I mean if we need to cancel rehearsal for whatever reason –  treacherous weather and driving conditions, and/or Sweet Home closing down all after-school activities (that includes us) –  Kevin and I will decide by 4:00 PM at the latest to alert you via Blogs and Facebook.  Again we will ask you to make sure EVERYONE gets notified.  I know there are still some who wait for someone to tell them in some other form than use of internet….personal calls etc.
  • If there is a cancelled rehearsal, I’ll have to carefully think that we may be in a situation where we need to make this one up in one way or another, probably after April 6th, when we’ll need the time more on RIV literature than on St. Michael music. So consider that might just have to happen. So far we’re OK, but just!
  • If, we have to cancel, I’m very concerned about our administrivia work:  tickets, publicity – flyer blitz signups, signing up of Sabres workers for this coming weekend, announcements pertaining to April concert, concert dress orders, etc, etc. Yikes, we’re a BIG organization.
  • There are perhaps still those of you who do not have electricity yet.  UGH!!!!!

However, I am just positive enough to think that we may be able to have this very important rehearsal, for no other facts than we know how to drive in this stuff,  AND the forecast calls for lighter winds than we’ve endured lately making visibility better than we might expect.  If we HAVE rehearsal, please, please be safe and take much more time than you may need.  If you’ll feel better to have someone other than yourself or another member drive you, I’ll most cordially welcome all drivers to an open rehearsal.  Now, that might be fun!!!!!

But, if we do not have rehearsal, I strongly ask you to use this two and a half hours of actual rehearsal time to MARK YOUR SCORES.   Dan Fronckowiak will be sending Shandra all the pages for our RIV music tonight or early tomorrow morning, and if Shandra can get them on the webpage, that would be a positive use of time we’re not together.

OK folks, I’m hopeful, and if we do meet tomorrow, I’ll give you the rehearsal lineup at the MIDDLE SCHOOL.  See you soon!!!!

Be SAFE!!! – Marcia
