Tonight 4/27

Hello Everyone:

I just texted Doug to thank him for such good work tonight with weeding through some of the divisi parts of several pieces.  I’m so grateful to have Doug come in at the last minute to help out.  I would be a terrible example if I tried to come in tonight SICK.  Not COVID, but whatever sinus, cough crap is going around.  Thought I could do it.  I just could not.

To clear up who sings what and where in Alway Something Sings, p.11, m. 68 women, S2 sings middle part.  I marked it in my score and I hope the S2s marked it in theirs. It’s in Files You May Need, clearly marked in my scores.  Lots of questionable pitches were worked out.  I’m pleased. And you’re getting used to the chromatics and key center changes.

Great work on And Can It Be? and Come to Me.

The Gloria needs some precise rhythmic integrity.  in addition to Bob, and Doug we will have strings and percussion.  Work with a metronome if need be.  We have to keep this together

I’ll send the rehearsal schedule tomorrow for next week’s rehearsal.  We have worked so hard these last few weeks.  It will be a glorious concert.

Thanks to those who joined on Zoom.  If you are at home, ill, or just can’t make it to rehearsal in person, please, please, join on Zoom with your music.  You can learn tons about the inner workings of these scores, ……and your individual parts. I learned a ton tonight just following my score and listening.

See you next week.  With next week we have 4 rehearsals left.  We are good to go, but we need some individual work at home.

Love you, love Doug,

M
