And What a Picture that made!

Hello Everyone:

My lasting picture and memory as I was leaving Sunday night’s Manor House festivities, was of Mike Koziol up to his eyeballs in suds as he washed pots and pans and utensils in the Manor House sink.  And along with that handsome visage will be Jim Guido, sleeves rolled up with a determined face, vacuuming the rugs in the entire place.  Oh what a day/night!

If anyone ever asks us to cater their party we should charge triple.  The appetizers were many, varied and delicious; the salads, tangy, tasty, and totally elegant. (Did you all notice the bowl Nancy Seel’s salad was in????); the desserts better than ever with, excuse my bias, Jill’s sponge candy taking first place.  But none of these unbelievable culinary, gustotorial delights could ever measure up to your generosity, your kindness, your unstinting planning and desire to make my 30th anniversary hoo-haa so phenomenal.  Oh what a day/night.

Your cards, notes, emails, gifts will forever be emblazoned on my mind.  You may not know this about me, because it may appear the opposite, but even though I love performing and the stage/podium spotlight, I am very uneasy with Sunday’s happenings. I would much prefer the spotlight on you, my beloved singers.  My sister-in-law, and Jim’s Mom, was so impressed with all of you, she now understands why I refer to BCAS as my ‘other family’.  How true that is.  She felt the love, folks.  So did I, in spades.

Over the years, mostly since my retirement and not wanting to adjust my living expenses, and not teaching at Houghton or Fredonia and having those gigs as part of my retirement income, my extra financial means have slowly but surely done the slow dip south.  I obviously did not plan well in my youth.  Your MOST generous financial gift will go a long way to help me enjoy my niece’s Lake Como, Italy wedding on June 5th, and will enable me to get to San Francisco for my sweet, little four year old great-niece Noelle’s birthday, with a quick stop in Las Vegas to visit my nephew PJ.

You all know FAMILY means everything to me.  So, please know………..YOU mean everything to me.  From the bottom of my most humbled heart, I thank you so very much for a weekend second to none.

Much love and gratitude,

Marcia
