A Message from Marcia

Hello Everyone:

My Mom passed away yesterday in the early morning. Mom lived to be 96 years old and 11 days. A magnificent woman who was described by the head of nursing at St. Catherine Laboure Nursing Facility thusly, “Marcia, your Mom was a woman of elegance, grace and dignity. She was one of our favorite residents.” I second that!

Today we buried Mom in a very lovely, service of committal at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery due in part by the efficient and fabulous work of Greco/Amigone Funeral Home. She looked so lovely! Mom is now with Dad and Jim, Aunt Marie and Uncle Louis, all residents in a beautiful mausoleum. Fr. Bob Gebhard of St. John Vianney Parish officiated, and our very own Nancy Seel sang “In Paradisum” at Mom’s casket.

My sister, and niece Kate, already in Italy were ‘with us’ via live-streaming means. What a wonderful gift for them.

I want to thank all of you who have sent notes of condolence to me and to my family via social media. Facebook is a wonder in times like these.

Mom will have a more formal farewell later this summer when our family can gather to honor her life. I know it would be an honor for me and my family if BCAS members who might be available to sing at Mom’s funeral Mass when that is scheduled.

I’ll try to keep you all up to date on the ‘Italy Wedding’ taking place on Monday, June 5th in Lago di Como, Italy, home of George Clooney……………who, is not available to give Kate away.

I miss you all already…………………..Much Love,

Marcia
