Hello.
I was asked by a non-Facebook user to post some of the tributes to Helga on Blogtrottr so everyone could see them. They’re listed below. She was truly one of a kind!
Ali Louis: That breaks my heart. Maybe she brought us the sunshine Sunday afternoon. ❤
Ali Louis: My BCAS family lost a very special woman on Saturday. Musician friends, do me a favor and do a little count-singing or solfege today in honor of Helga Dombrowski, and maybe we’ll hear her laughing at us from above. At the end of my first season with BCAS, we were on the bus in Quebec City headed for the sugar shack when I started getting a terrible stomachache. Helga, seated across the aisle, punched her husband’s arm and said “Go sit with her and make her feel better!” If I had to pinpoint the moment I felt like a true part of this particular choir family, it would probably be sitting on that bus as Tom rubbed my back and Helga helped him distract me with chit chat. Helga, you will be greatly missed.
Sharon Darisse: She was a wonderful person, and so dedicated to BCAS. We’ll miss her.
Lisa Fronckowiak: Always a friendly face and always so quick with the great smartass comeback. Helga was a wonderful woman and will indeed be missed!
Candace Reuther Schultz: I’m sorry to hear this. My sympathy to her family. Helga was my ‘seatmate’ when I joined BCAS. She always made me feel welcome, along with giving me worldly advice (or her 2 cents as she would say ). Her presence and hysterical comments during rehearsal are truly missed.
Susan Dosch: 😢😢😢 I loved sitting next to her, she was so witty and fun…so kind. This makes me sad.
Tina Brewer Reece: Oh…… This makes me so sad. I remember when she was moved to Sop 2. She sat next to me and apologized ahead of time for reading the Sop 1 line. No need, because she was great! ☹️😢
Nancy Lombardi Behrns: She was one of a kind! She brought laughter and joy to BCAS, for sure. We feel blessed to have known her, and for the time that we were in this group together.
Jim Maria Case: Wonderful woman!! Taught us all how not to take ourselves so seriously and to enjoy the moments. We will miss our Helga!
Linda Baumler Koziol: I always knew it was going to be a good rehearsal or concert, if I had the privilege of sitting next to Helga. She was strong, hysterically witty, and a woman of high standards. I was blessed to know her, and feel a tremendous loss at the news of her passing. She will be missed by anyone who knew her. My sympathies to her friends and family.
Sue Prince LoBrutto: Aww. Sorry to hear this. She always made me laugh. Such a nice person. She’ll be missed and remembered fondly. 😞🙏🎶
Marcia Giambrone: Helga is Solfeging and Count Singing in Heaven. She’s leading the choir of angels. Oh how sad this is.
Danielle Paradowski: She was the first to “friend” me at bcas and I sat next to her for many years…. she used to tell me “kid I’m still a soprano one just really for the namesake can’t really sing it anymore so you better take all those high notes!” Oh how I miss her little one liners or as she would say her “2 cents”
Paula Belair: She made me laugh – what a great asset to the chorus – loved her her thematic shirts for every holiday. Those who knew her were very lucky.
Beth Anne: She always had such spunk! such sad news
Judith Lovell Frantz Fabiniak: These stories make me smile. I spent many a Saturday morning with Helga “back in the day” when we had a ticket committee. We met at Aunt Marie Casillo’s house, and Marian Colby was part of the group (as were Mary Townson and Patti Ritzenthaler). I treasure my memories of those mornings, and the sound of uncontrollable laughter, instigated by Marian, Helga and Marie. I love the thought that they’re still doing it.❤❤
Jill Jackson Herron: I’m very sad. I really loved her.
Paula Giambrone-Kerr: My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Helga
If I skipped anyone, I apologize. It wasn’t intentional.
