Hello Everyone,
As of right now, we need at least 7 more people to help us out with the Sabres 50/50. Each time we do this, especially the Friday night games it’s a little more difficult. We have people who sign up every time, some because they like it, but others out of a willingness to help the group. I’m sure many of those people who sign up each time get disappointed that there aren’t other people who are willing to “take their turn.” If you have to do it every time, because other people don’t, it becomes less fun and more work. Please, if you have the time, consider spending it with us raising money for the chorus.
If you can volunteer, please Click this link. It will bring you to a google form that you can fill out to sign up.
Here are the details:
- We need to be there at 4:30. If you have done the 50/50 before, you can arrive a little after that. The puck drops at 7:00pm. There is no prior experience necessary to do this! It’s easy and they will teach you how to do it.
- Pizza is provided for you. Usually, it’s LaNova.
- We will sell tickets before the game around the escalators and walkways of the stadium. Once the game starts, some people will go up to the suites, some people will go to the club level, and most people will stay on the 100 and 300 levels. You may, but do not have to, go into the stands during a break in play. This tends to be the best way to sell tickets while hockey is being played.
- Sales stop after the second intermission. This will be sometime between 8:30pm and 9:00pm.
- If walking/stairs are not good for you, there are a limited number of booths with (backless) stools in them. You would stay there for the entire time we are there.
Just as a reminder, we made $1,200 the last time we did this. We should be able to do just as well next week.
If you’re reading this thinking “Gee, I know you need people and I’d love to but I just can’t because of a schedule conflict/can’t physically/other reason” the people selling tickets don’t have to be chorus members. If you have a child or a friend who would love to do it and is over the age of 18, then they can absolutely do it!
If you have any questions or concerns about this at all that are preventing you from volunteering, please email me (tnaber1@gmail.com) or Samantha Cook (samantha.lee.cook@gmail.com). We would be happy to talk to you about it.
Thank you,
Tom Naber
