Requiem For The Living – 1st Rehearsal Plan

Hi Everyone,

I hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and spent some time together. It is time to prepare for our next concert, Requiem for the Living.

A Requiem is usually a genre reserved for the departed, Forrest’s Requiem is unique in its dedication to those still living. “Requiem,” meaning “rest,” is needed by the dead and the living alike. This major work features Soprano and Tenor Solo, Chamber Orchestra, Organ, and Percussion. Two other selections, I Am in Need of Music and The Music of Stillness will also be presented. Everything presented on this concert centers on “Rest”.

Here is the rehearsal plan for our first rehearsal on Wednesday, January 3rd. Please listen to the reference recordings to familiarize yourself with the music, put rehearsal markings in your score, and prepare the sections and pieces that we will rehearse on Wednesday. If you did not pick up your music after our last Christmas concert, it will be available before rehearsal begins.
