Rehearsal Plan / Seating Chart Plan

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate your patience as we worked out the seating chart issue last night.  Even though we started late, last night’s rehearsal was great.  Please read this post in its entirety.  It contains important information regarding next week’s rehearsal.

I want to finalize the seating chart so it is not an issue in the future.  With that said, I would like all men to arrive for seat placement promptly at 7 PM, Alto’s at 7:15, and Soprano’s at 7:30.   Each section will be voiced and seated.  Once completed, this will be your seat for the remainder of the season.  Please make every effort to be in attendance.  If you can not make rehearsal, please report your absence to choral attendance so we are aware of your absence and a seat will be assigned.

Full length solo auditions will be before and after next week’s rehearsal.  Please bring two copies of the music.  I will not hear the entire song, just sections.  Once you have auditioned, if it is possible, please stay and listen to the other people.  Having an audience changes the dynamic and is an important part of the audition.

Here are the two links I promised for You Can’t Stop The Beat and I Put A Spell On You.  Our arrangement of You Can’t Stop The Beat is a shortened version of the movie clip, and I Put A Spell on You adds a second verse, which is not in the movie clip.  Please listen to both of them for style and feel how the song sits.  (“Sits” is my term for how a songs energy, flow, and style portrays the heart of the piece)
