Rehearsal Plan

Hi Everyone,

Sorry, I missed rehearsal last week.  I was also off the “grid” for almost the entire week.  Nine years ago, my family and I had a foreign exchange student from Italy live with us for an entire year.  We have kept in touch over the years; he has since become one of the family.  My entire family went to Italy for a week to visit him.   He lives in the Italian Alps region, which is stunning, and works in Switzerland.  We toured the entire country with him as our personal tour guide.  He took us to all the standard tourist spots, but also to places, and restaurants most tourists don’t see.  He cooked a traditional Italian dinner for us, including the sauce from his grandmother’s recipe.  We even made our own pasta.   It was wonderful to see the cultural differences.  However, I will say driving in Italy was a challenge.  The roads and driving habits are very different from ours.  We returned home late Monday night.  It was an unforgettable trip.

Thank you Bob for running rehearsal while I was gone.  He said the rehearsal went well and that we are in good shape.  Please continue to rehearse the pieces from beginning to end. I included below the plan for Wednesday’s rehearsal.  Our main objective is to run all pieces and to select our soloists for solos within the choral music.  This will be done in rehearsal.  There will be no break and women will be dismissed at 8:55 so I can work with the men on You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.  Rehearsal will end at 9:15 PM.

The schedule for the coaching sessions of our full-length solos will remain the same.  Soloists, please be completely prepared on your solo, be prepared to inform me of what your piece is trying to convey, and consider memorizing your solo.  Memorization is not a requirement, but it helps in the delivery.

I am very excited for this concert and look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday night.

Thanks

David
