Next Week’s Rehearsal Plan

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your dedicated efforts at last night’s rehearsal. Your hard work is truly appreciated, and I want to extend a special thanks to those who auditioned for the solos. Each of you brings a unique voice to our choir, and while the solo selection process may seem mysterious, rest assured that every decision is made with the best interest of the choir in mind. The chosen soloists were selected because their voices perfectly complemented the solo, considering factors such as tone, timbre, phrasing, and musicality.

The choir sounds terrific. The musicality, phrasing, blend, and balance are excellent. We just need to go through the pieces a few more times so the selections “sit well.”  I use this phrase to describe the performance of a choir when there are no obvious errors, the blend/balance is good, and the heart of the piece is revealed.

I have included below the rehearsal plan for next week.  Please review all pieces with the rehearsal tracks, and listen to the reference recordings.  Spend some extra time on the rhythms and listen to the reference recording of Star A Fire.   We will start with this piece next week.
