Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! If you think back to sitting in the Chapel at the Cathedral, you may remember that I did a little survey of the songs that you loved the most (or least!) that we performed this Christmas. Well, I waited until today to send it to you so that I had a good excuse to send my holiday wishes.
Here you go: The first group of three are actually based on how many number 1, number 2 and number 3 choices.
The song that received the most “Number 1 votes was (drumroll…..)–Dan Forrest’s arrangement of “O LIttle Town of Bethlehem”. The second most popular was “Do You Hear What I Hear”. And the Third most popular was “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. These three are probably etched in our memories as being very special!
The songs in order of Most favorite to Least favorite follow. These are based on overall total votes and are as follows:
- O LIttle Town of Bethlehem
- Twas the Night Before Christmas
- Do You Hear What I Hear
- Wexford Carol
- Noe! Noe!
- For Unto Us A Child Is Born
- Hark the Harold Angels Sing
- Go Tell It on the Mountain
- Noel Carol
- What is This Lovely Fragrance
I hope that this was fun for you and that you enjoyed expressing your opinions! Your choices will have an impact on decisions that will be made by the Board in the future.
I will do this again during the March concerts so start letting some of our new music into your hearts and souls beginning in January!
