Good Saturday morning!

Good morning, all,

Enjoy this beautiful Western New York day!  A couple of bits and pieces for tomorrow:

  1.  If you are experiencing ANY Covid symptoms including sore throat, cough, fever, fatigue, headache, etc., PLEASE TEST before heading to the concert.  We must remember at all times that singing is one of the most transferrable activities that we as humans can do to spread the disease.  I counted about 15 singers wearing masks last night and a few of the instrumentalists. Wearing a mask is to protect others as well as yourself.  If you test positive for Covid following the concert, PLEASE let us know so that we can alert those around you.  We have done a GREAT job to date keeping each other safe.  We have one more hoop to jump through tomorrow.
  2. Ticket seller prizes!!!!  If you are interested in jumping into the contest, either walk up to me at least 15 minutes prior to the concert tomorrow or email me your numbers at shadowlear@aol.com or text me your numbers at 716-435-0176.  One of our special members has donated two bottles of wine (thank you!!) and there is a tie breaker or two if we have several “winners”.
  3. Thank a member or a volunteer for helping with the risers!  There was a very big group of helpers after rehearsal last night and “Many hands make light work”.  Just take a second to thank those that have helped to make this concert happen.
  4. Last chance tomorrow to update your information on our roster.  That includes any change in email address, mailing address, and telephone number.  This is the only way that we can stay in touch with you over the summer.  See me if you need to make any changes.
  5. Thank you to Marcia and Bob for the glorious program that you will be presenting tomorrow.  I wish that each of you singers could hear how beautiful it sounds with the string ensemble and the additional percussion.  It shows your talent and heart and I couldn’t help but wish that Dan Forrest could have heard you last night.  It was part of a dream to bring him here and the best part of the dream now is that you are finally performing his intricate rhythms, beautiful melodies, and meaningful lyrics together after the challenges of the last two years.  BRAVO!  I will share with you that there were many compliments on your performance from John Maguda and the amazing sound engineer said that you are one of Buffalo’s gems.

Have a wonderful day!

Gail
