Hi Everyone,
We are moving along nicely. Thanks for your attendance, preparation, and great rehearsal last night. I would like to reinforce the importance of rehearsal attendance, and prior preparation. The less note correction/reinforcement we have to do in rehearsal the faster we can get to making beautiful music together.

Here are a few announcements regarding the next few rehearsals.
- Next week’s rehearsal will be at St. Christophers R.C Church on Niagara Falls Blvd.
- Rehearsal on 11/15/23 will be a sectional rehearsal to start, then combined.
- After rehearsal on 11/15/23 auditions for all solos will be held. Please consider trying out.
- I was not able to get copywrites to a choral arrangement of December Song. Therefore, this will be a full length solo. Copywrite laws also restrict me from posting or distributing copies of the music. I will be able to provide you with a copy of the music at the audition. Please rehearse with the reference recording, however the performance key will be lower than the reference recording. This will be a more comfortable key to sing in.
I would like to share two recordings with you of the St. Olaf Choir, which is a fabulous group. Please take a moment and listen to this choir. Pay close attention to their diction, the raise and fall of the musical phrase, how important words are stressed and unimportant words are not stressed, the purity of each vowel, how each section and the entire choir sing as one unit, and the beauty of the choral sound.
- Flight Song by Kim Andre Arnesen – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUvE6i1l2do
- I will Light Candles this Christmas by Kim Andre Arnesen (diction is not as good as in Flight Song, due to the performance space and orchestra, but it is still beautiful) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESr9mfMyYns
Thank you for your efforts!
David
