Today at 4:00 PM, and a fun event tomorrow night

Hello Everyone:

The Covid picture is really not clearing up too much, and I, for one, l admit that is unfortunate.  Several choral folks have been discussing and participating in choral Webinars to make sure we’re up to date on what CAN happen when we’re all allowed to gather again in groups of more than 25.  NYS is in Phase 3, and Phase 4 will come soon.  Choral singing is obviously not in either phase.  Patience is the word!

My concern is that the further we’re away from singing, rehearsals and performances, the possibility of learning to live without them could be a bit more on our minds.  My prayer that is NOT the case.  As we all recover from this pandemic, whether it is emotionally, physically, psychologically, financially, or medically, we will definitely need something in our lives which will bring us JOY, something that will give us an escape from whatever our lives will become.  That would be SINGING, with a Capital S.

To that end, and perhaps as a start, I’d like to tell you about an event which is taking place tomorrow evening at 8PM on Facebook.  A BeerChoir Virtual Happy Hour is a fun event that Adam Luebke was aware of in Minnesota. He wants to try it in Buffalo, so he has invited Garrett Martin and me to participate tomorrow night in this first, very informal, social choral event, hopefully to get us through the next few months without large group singing.  I am really looking forward to this and want to invite you all to be a part of it. If you all like it, we can do it again, adding more and more singers to the ‘party’.

I just posted this event in Facebook in our BCAS group.  Join us if you can.

On another note.  I’m going to post on Facebook Live early today, Wednesday, June 17th, because I have another event tonight.  I’ll be on at 4:00 PM.  Hope you see you all there also.

Oh, how I miss you.  Something is terribly missing in my life…………………………….its YOU!

Be safe, happy, and healthy

M
